For the healthcare professional, the NOF publishes “Clinical Updates”. They also sponsor continuing education programs for healthcare professionals and workshops and meetings.
The NOF’s other newsletters, “The Osteoporosis Report” and “The Bone Advocacy E-News” are published quarterly and are available to all members. It is a good resource for the most current news and information on osteoporosis and NOF initiatives.
The NOF also has established the Professional Partners Network is a nationwide affiliation of health professionals from affiliated hospitals, clinics and individual physicians. This referral list is available on the NOF website.

The NOF advocacy activities include fighting for public health policies that promote access to quality care, education and prevention initiatives and bone health and osteoporosis research. They are currently asking all members to ask Congress to support the “Bone Health Promotion and Research Act”, H.R. 3856, which would create a national bone health program.
As a part of its vision, the NOF recently teamed up with Society for Women’s Health Research, National Women’s Resource Center, National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, American Association of University Women and the American Business Women’s Association to form the “Know My Bones Council.”
The “Know My Bones Council” has a goal of encouraging women living with postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO) to educate them about bone health and to find the resources they need to fight the disease.
